The Gyan Bharatam Mission, launched by the Ministry of Culture during the Union Budget 2025-26, is a major initiative aimed at digitizing Indian manuscripts. The mission aims to survey, document, and preserve manuscripts by building a robust technology infrastructure and fostering partnerships. With the launch of the National Manuscript Survey, over 12.97 lakh manuscripts have been recorded, and 1.29 lakh manuscripts are available to the public through the National Digital Repository. The initiative includes establishing a network of Cluster and Independent Centers across India to support these efforts.
