Ministry of Defence Signs Major Contracts for Defence Equipment

The Indian Ministry of Defence finalized contracts worth Rs 4,666 crore for the acquisition of Close Quarter Battle Carbines and Heavy Weight Torpedoes. Contracts for the Carbines were signed with Bharat Forge Ltd and PLR Systems Pvt Ltd, aimed at equipping the Indian Army and Navy. Meanwhile, Heavy Weight Torpedo contracts were finalized with WASS Submarine Systems S.R.L for Kalvari Class Submarines. This move is part of the government's effort to modernize the armed forces while promoting the Make-in-India initiative and the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
