The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) announced the introduction of a deferred Customs Duty payment scheme for Eligible Manufacturer Importers (EMIs) as per the Union Budget 2026-27 directives. This facilitation scheme allows trusted manufacturers to postpone duty payment to better manage cash flow, operational from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2028. Applications can be submitted online from 1st March 2026.
