Ministry of Food Processing Industries Boosts Agro Processing Clusters
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is spearheading a Scheme for Creation of Infrastructure for Agro Processing Clusters under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana. This scheme promotes the establishment of food processing units through a cluster approach and focuses on projects in agricultural and horticultural areas to enhance India's food processing sector. The ministry collaborates with institutions like the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management to strengthen academic, research, and capacity-building initiatives. Recent evaluations by the Quality Council of India were also conducted, marking a pivotal step in the sector’s development strategy.
