Ministry of Heavy Industries Boosts Sector Through Global Partnerships

The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) of India has collaborated with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) under the India-Japan Industrial Competitiveness Partnership to enhance India's Capital Goods industry. This collaboration aims to improve technology transfer, skill development, and advanced manufacturing technologies. MHI is also implementing the second phase of its competitiveness enhancement scheme, approving 29 projects to strengthen the sector. Additionally, four Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hub (SAMARTH) centres have been established across India to promote digital transformation in heavy industries.
