The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs concluded 2025 with significant progress in urban infrastructure and transport development. Highlights include the expansion of metro rail services to 26 cities, surpassing 1,000 km of operational metro lines, and the launch of the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme. Over 3,600 buses were sanctioned for urban transport improvements. The PM SVANidhi scheme supported over 70 lakh street vendors with financial assistance, while the AMRUT initiative enhanced water connectivity nationwide. Environmental efforts included the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign which saw participation from over 18 crore citizens and the launch of the Dumpsite Remediation Accelerator Programme.
