Ministry of Jal Shakti Launches Key Sewerage Projects for Ganga and Yamuna
The Ministry of Jal Shakti has operationalized five major sewerage infrastructure projects in the third quarter of FY 2025-26 under the Namami Gange Mission Phase II. These projects, aimed at curbing pollution and rejuvenating rivers, are located across several states, including Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Bihar. The total sewage treatment capacity commissioned has reached 3,976 MLD, enhancing urban sanitation infrastructure and preventing untreated sewage from entering the rivers.
