Ministry of Jal Shakti's Update on Interlinking of Rivers Projects
The Ministry of Jal Shakti has provided an update on India's National Perspective Plan for interlinking rivers. Out of the 30 identified projects, feasibility reports for 26 and detailed project reports for 13 have been completed. The Ken–Betwa Link Project is currently in the implementation phase. Environmental assessments are mandated for these projects to ensure minimal socio-economic impacts. The projects aim to enhance irrigation potential, drinking water availability, and regional water security.
