Ministry of Law & Justice Highlights Success of ADR Mechanisms
The Ministry of Law and Justice has outlined the contributions of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms like the Pre-Institution Mediation and Settlement and Lok Adalats in resolving commercial disputes. Since the 2018 amendment, thousands of commercial cases have been settled through mediation under the Commercial Courts Act, 2015. Lok Adalats, organized under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, have successfully resolved millions of cases annually, demonstrating an effective, less costly, and expedient alternative to traditional court proceedings.
