Ministry of Panchayati Raj Implements RGSA in Northeast

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is advancing the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) in the North Eastern Region by training elected representatives and stakeholders in Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). This initiative enhances local governance capabilities through foundational and specialized training, exposure visits, and development practices. Significant efforts are also invested in the financial self-reliance of Gram Panchayats via the Own Source Revenue module, developed with IIM Ahmedabad. Under RGSA, digital applications like eGramSwaraj are being promoted to advance e-governance, enabling efficient financial management at the grassroots. Additionally, infrastructure support for Panchayat Bhawans and the procurement of computers has been extended to strengthen operational capacity.
