Ministry of Panchayati Raj Revamps Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has revamped the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) to enhance the governance capabilities of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) across India. The new phase of the scheme, implemented from FY 2022-23 to 2025-26, focuses on capacity building through training programs for elected representatives and functionaries, promoting e-governance, and strengthening Gram Sabhas. With a budget of Rs. 5911 crore, the scheme aims to improve local governance, increase transparency, and deepen people's participation in the Panchayat system.
