Ministry of Ports Announces Support Framework for Maritime Projects
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has launched strategic initiatives under the Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 to ensure balanced growth in the maritime sector. The initiatives cover areas such as shipbuilding, inland waterways, cruise tourism, and digital transformation. To support these, a financial framework has been introduced featuring the Maritime Investment Fund, Interest Incentivization Fund, and Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme, all designed to mitigate risks and promote sustainable developments. This announcement was made in the Rajya Sabha by the Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways.
