Ministry of Rural Development Launches Campaign to Empower Rural Women Entrepreneurs
The Ministry of Rural Development has initiated a National Campaign on Entrepreneurship under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). This campaign aims to boost rural women entrepreneurship by training 50,000 community resource persons (CRPs) and providing enterprise development training to 50 lakh Self Help Group (SHG) members across India. The goal is to support the creation of non-farm rural enterprises and significantly increase the income of rural women, aiming to enable at least 3 crore 'Lakhpati Didis'—women earning more than ₹1 lakh annually. The campaign's launch involved key partnerships with organizations like NITI Aayog, NABARD, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and others, aiming to foster sustainable economic growth and self-reliance in rural communities.
