Ministry of Steel Launches Skill Development Initiative

The Ministry of Steel has inaugurated new skill development training courses at the National Institute of Secondary Steel Technology (NISST), Mandi Gobindgarh. Led by Secretary Sandeep Poundrik, the initiative aims to enhance the employability of ITI students and workers in the secondary steel sector by providing industry-relevant skills. As the steel industry anticipates significant growth, the need for skilled manpower is critical. The Secretary emphasized the importance of practical training and urged industry associations to partner with NISST to support trainees. The event also featured the awarding of Green Steel Certifications to four entities for their sustainable practices.
