Ministry of Textiles Launches Agro-Textile Initiative to Boost Agricultural Productivity

The Ministry of Textiles in India has launched the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) to enhance agricultural productivity through agro-textiles. Established in 2020, the initiative includes 14 approved research projects focusing on the development and application of innovative agro-textile products. A Climate-Smart Agro-Textile Demonstration Centre was opened in Gujarat in 2024 to showcase sustainable practices, train farmers, and promote climate resilience in agriculture. This initiative, supported by several educational and research institutions, aims to improve farming efficiency and sustainability across India.
