Ministry of Tourism Boosts Facilities Under PRASHAD Scheme

The Ministry of Tourism in India continues to enhance pilgrimage and heritage sites under the PRASHAD scheme, focusing on infrastructure development to improve safety and accessibility for pilgrims. In 2025, seven projects were sanctioned across various states including Bihar, Karnataka, Mizoram, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. These projects aim to develop essential facilities like pathways, lighting, sanitation, and safety measures. The initiative ensures that projects are fully integrated with local administrative plans and involve multiple stakeholders. This was announced by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture in a reply to Rajya Sabha.
