Ministry of Tourism Boosts Tourism Infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir

The Ministry of Tourism has invested ₹519.58 crore in six projects under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme's Himalayan Circuit to enhance tourism infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir. The projects, completed between 2016-2017, are part of a larger effort to revive and sustain tourism in the region. The Ministry's strategies, such as promoting the Seven Lakes of Rajouri and Poonch, involve celebrity tours, digital outreach, and promotional events, have successfully increased tourist footfall and employment. These efforts were highlighted by Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in a recent address to the Rajya Sabha.
