Ministry of Tourism Enhances Focus on NER Through New Schemes and Initiatives

The Ministry of Tourism has stepped up efforts to promote the North Eastern Region (NER) of India as a prime tourism destination through various schemes and initiatives. These include the International Tourism Mart, revamped Incredible India Digital Platform, and financial assistance for fairs and festivals under the DPPH scheme. The Swadesh Darshan 2.0, PRASHAD, and other schemes focus on infrastructure development, air connectivity enhancement through the RCS-UDAN scheme, and cleanliness initiatives under the Swachhta Action Plan to bolster tourism in NER. Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat elaborated on these initiatives in a recent parliamentary session.
