Ministry of Tourism Enhances Pilgrimage Infrastructure in Maharashtra Under PRASHAD Scheme

The Ministry of Tourism is undertaking comprehensive developments of pilgrimage sites under the 'Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive' (PRASHAD) to improve spiritual tourism experiences. The scheme has sanctioned 54 projects across 28 states and UTs, including a significant project in Trimbakeshwar, Maharashtra. Proposals from states for such developments are reviewed continuously with criteria focusing on carrying capacity and infrastructure improvements to safely manage pilgrim flows and enhance local economies.
