Ministry of Tourism Unveils Strategies for Rural and Eco Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism has introduced new guidelines to promote rural tourism, focusing particularly on the development of homestays in tribal areas. As part of the Swadesh Darshan Scheme under Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan, 1000 homestays will be developed with financial support. There are also guidelines for 'Challenge Based Destination Development' to enhance tourism destinations sustainably. Additionally, strategies for Eco Tourism and the Travel for LiFE program aim at encouraging sustainable practices in tourism. These initiatives are designed to enhance tourism experiences while bolstering economic opportunities for local communities.
