Ministry of Tribal Affairs Advances Development of National FRA Digital Platform

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) in India organized Hackathon 2.0 to advance the development of a comprehensive national digital platform for the effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) 2006. Bringing together five finalist teams from the Smart India Hackathon 2025, MoTA officials, and experts from IIT Delhi and NIC, the two-day workshop focused on integrating innovative solutions to create a cohesive and scalable digital platform. Key features of the proposed platform include AI-powered archives, a spatial visualization atlas, a claimant-centric chatbot, and a Decision Support System (DSS). The initiative signifies MoTA's commitment to data-driven governance and transparent implementation of forest rights, positioned as a model for innovation-led governance.
