Mission Poshan 2.0 Enhances Nutrition Delivery Through Advanced IT Systems
Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Mission Poshan 2.0 have integrated IT systems to fortify transparency and effectiveness in nutrition delivery at Anganwadi Centres (AWCs). Utilizing the 'Poshan Tracker' app, launched in March 2021, the program tracks and monitors AWCs, Anganwadi Workers, and beneficiaries using defined indicators for stunting, wasting, and underweight prevalence among children. The application includes features for real-time data collection related to nutrition services, such as attendance, growth monitoring, and meal delivery. Additionally, it provides educational videos for Anganwadi Workers on various child development practices. To ensure accurate service delivery, a Facial Recognition System is deployed to authenticate beneficiaries receiving rations. Moreover, extensive training programs have been implemented to acquaint nearly 900,000 Anganwadi Workers with Poshan Tracker, underscoring a significant stride toward digital governance in nutritional welfare. Privacy protections are robust, safeguarding sensitive data within the application. The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, is supported by a grievance redressal mechanism, including a helpline operational in multiple languages.
