Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0: A Holistic Approach to Tackle Malnutrition

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has integrated Anganwadi Services, Poshan Abhiyaan, and Scheme for Adolescent Girls under the Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 initiative. This mission aims to reduce malnutrition and improve health through diverse strategies such as community engagement, dietary diversity, and enhanced nutrition guidelines. It emphasizes maternal nutrition, child feeding norms, and the reduction of malnutrition-related ailments using AYUSH practices. The initiative also introduces fortified rice and the use of millets to combat micronutrient deficiencies and promotes the creation of Poshan Vatikas for access to local produce. Additionally, the Poshan Tracker Application is employed to monitor and track nutritional indicators and improve service delivery efficiency.
