MNRE Issues Amendment to ALMM Order for Solar PV Cells
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued an amendment to the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar PV cells, clarifying that the mandatory use of ALMM-listed solar PV cells will begin one month after the publication of the ALMM list. The effective date for mandatory use remains June 1, 2026. This amendment aims to provide clarity for bidders and support the domestic solar manufacturing industry, which currently has a capacity of 91 GW for solar PV modules and 27 GW for solar PV cells.
