Modernization of Textile Industry in India

The Ministry of Textiles has implemented the Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS) to modernize textile machinery, which was valid until March 31, 2022. Currently, it only covers committed liability cases. The scheme has benefitted numerous textile manufacturing units across various states, with significant funds released over the last five years. The Ministry is also promoting awareness of textile machinery upgrades through international and domestic events, as stated by Minister of State for Textiles, Shri Pabitra Margherita, in a Lok Sabha reply.
