MoFPI Boosts Rural Food Supply-Chain Through Central Schemes

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is actively addressing gaps in rural food supply-chain infrastructure through various schemes. These include the Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for the Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI), and the PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme. These initiatives aim to create modern infrastructure for better farm-to-fork supply chain management, enhancing returns for farmers and reducing post-harvest losses. The schemes primarily target rural areas and have a combined financial outlay of over 27,000 crores. The information was shared by the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Shri Ravneet Singh in the Lok Sabha.
