Monitoring Road Projects through Mobile App

The Ministry of Rural Development has implemented a web-based system called OMMAS to monitor the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in real-time, ensuring efficiency and transparency. The system includes a Project Management Information System (PMIS) for better management of road construction activities. Quality monitoring is enhanced through independent assessments and GPS tracking of vehicles. A new initiative, PMGSY-IV, aims to provide all-weather connectivity to unconnected habitations. Maintenance contracts are established to ensure road quality and longevity, with state governments responsible for upkeep.
