MoSPI Announces Changes to National Accounts Statistics Base Year 2022-23

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) of India is updating the base year for National Accounts Statistics to FY 2022-23. This revision involves adopting enhanced methodologies and data sources. Significant updates include the expanded use of Goods & Services Tax (GST) data for more accurate regional GDP estimates, as well as incorporating new administrative and survey data for various sectors. These updates aim to improve the accuracy and robustness of national accounts estimates.
