MoSPI Releases Discussion Paper on Seasonal Adjustment of Industrial Production Index
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has issued a new discussion paper, titled Discussion Paper 3.0, which addresses the seasonal adjustment of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) amidst growing demand for such adjustments. The paper outlines the methodology proposed for this adjustment, marking a significant step as India has not previously published a seasonally adjusted IIP series. Stakeholders are invited to submit their feedback by February 12, 2026.
