MoTA Highlights Tribal Language Preservation at Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav 2025

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) actively participated in the Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav 2025, spotlighting India's tribal linguistic heritage. Held on Mahakavi Subramania Bharati's birth anniversary, the event at National Bal Bhawan, New Delhi, emphasized linguistic diversity under the theme "Many Languages, One Emotion." MoTA showcased tribal language publications from Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gujarat, including dictionaries and storybooks. A significant feature was the live demonstration of the Adi Vaani app, an AI-driven translator for tribal languages developed by IIT Delhi, designed to digitally preserve and promote tribal languages. The app supports real-time translation of several tribal languages and integrates with digital literacy and cultural preservation initiatives. The event celebrated India's multilingual heritage through cultural performances, enhancing the recognition and survival of tribal languages as part of the nation's cultural fabric.
