NABARD Survey Highlights Robust Revival in Rural Economy

The eighth round of NABARD's Rural Economic Conditions and Sentiments Survey (RECSS) reveals a significant revival in rural demand and rising incomes across rural India from September 2024 to November 2025. The survey highlights a noteworthy increase in consumption, with 80% of rural households reporting higher consumption due to increased purchasing power. Income growth has reached its highest level, with 42.2% of households experiencing increases, leading to strong optimism about future incomes. Additionally, rural investment activity and access to formal credit have improved, with a rise in capital investments and a record 58.3% of households accessing formal credit. The government's welfare transfers continue to support demand without creating dependency, while inflation perceptions have dropped, enhancing purchasing power. The survey also notes improvements in rural infrastructure and basic services, contributing to long-term prosperity.
