Nalanda University Launches Centre for Southeast Asian Studies
On March 31, 2026, Nalanda University inaugurated the Centre for Southeast Asian Studies, with Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs, Shri P. Kumaran, presiding over the event. The initiative, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 2025 ASEAN-India Summit, aims to bolster the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Plan of Action through ten interdisciplinary research clusters. The Centre will serve as an academic and policy bridge, fostering ties between India and Southeast Asia.
