National Biodiversity Authority Disburses Rs 68 Lakh to Maharashtra

The National Biodiversity Authority has released Rs 68 lakh to local committees in Maharashtra under its Access and Benefit Sharing framework. This initiative supports the use of Bacillus genus bacteria for creating probiotic products, highlighting the importance of microbial biodiversity. The mechanism promotes fair sharing with local communities and fosters conservation. To date, Rs 144.20 crore has been distributed nationwide.
