National Clean Air Programme Update

The National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), initiated by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in January 2019, aims to enhance air quality in 130 cities across 24 States/UTs in India. The program involves collaboration among various government levels and stakeholders, focusing on specific mitigation measures through city and state action plans. A total of Rs. 13,036.52 crore has been allocated for air quality improvements, with 71% already utilized. Recent guidelines emphasize key activities for funding utilization, and monitoring committees have been established to oversee implementation and compliance with emission standards.
