National Conference Highlights Strategies for Managing Government Litigation
On February 28, 2026, the Ministry of Law and Justice organized a National Conference in New Delhi to discuss "Efficient and Effective Management of Government Litigation." This event brought together key figures from the legal and administrative sectors to address the growing need for streamlined litigation processes. Emphasizing four major litigation areas—service, pension, employment; infrastructure, compensation, contractual disputes; fiscal, taxation, revenue; and regulatory, compliance cases—the conference highlighted critical issues such as repetitive litigation, inadequate legal vetting, and coordination challenges. It proposed enhanced alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms, better coordination, and early dispute resolution techniques to reduce unnecessary litigation and promote government litigation efficiency, aligning with the vision of "Viksit Bharat @2047."
