National Conference on Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will inaugurate a two-day National Conference in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on August 29, 2025, focusing on the role of parliamentary committees in the welfare and empowerment of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The event will gather over 120 delegates from various legislative bodies, including state and union ministers, to discuss constitutional safeguards and socio-economic development for SCs and STs. This marks the first time the conference is held outside Delhi since its inception in 1976.
