The Department of Science and Technology (DST) is coordinating the National Mission on Strategic Knowledge for Climate Change (NMSKCC) under the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC). The mission aims to enhance human and institutional capacities in climate change science, adaptation, and mitigation. It supports various research programs, including the establishment of 18 Centers of Excellence and State Climate Change Cells in 17 states to assist in vulnerability assessments and capacity building. A report on 'Climate Change and Agriculture in India' was published in 2016, detailing the impact of climate change on agriculture and adaptation measures.
