National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture Progress Report

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has released 2900 crop varieties over the past decade, with 2661 being resilient to various stresses. The National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) project has demonstrated 298 climate-resilient varieties across 448 villages, benefiting over 11,000 farmers. The Sub Mission on Seeds and Planting Materials (SMSP) has been merged with the National Food Security and Nutrition Mission (NFSNM), with significant funding allocated for seed production. Additionally, weather forecasting services are being enhanced to support farmers in adapting to climate challenges.
