National Programme for Dairy Development Progress Report

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying has been implementing the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) since 2014-15 to enhance milk quality and increase organized procurement. As of August 2025, 31,908 dairy cooperative societies have been organized, leading to significant increases in milk procurement and the establishment of numerous testing laboratories and mobile veterinary units. The revised scheme aims to establish 21,902 new dairy cooperatives in 2025-26 with a financial outlay of Rs. 407.37 Crore.
