National Task Force Urges Participation in Student Well-being Surveys for Suicide Prevention

On the eve of World Suicide Prevention Day, the National Task Force (NTF) calls for widespread participation in surveys aimed at understanding student well-being and preventing suicides. The NTF's mandate includes identifying causes of student suicides, examining institutional shortcomings, and recommending actionable measures. With over 60,000 higher education institutions in India, the NTF has engaged with various stakeholders and is conducting nationwide surveys to gather insights from students, parents, faculty, and mental health professionals. The deadline for institutions to complete the survey is September 12, 2025.
