Nationwide Inspections of Edible Oil Refineries by Indian Government

The Department of Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, has conducted nationwide inspections of edible oil refineries to ensure that recent import duty reductions on edible oils benefit consumers. Inspections covered major refineries and processing plants in states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. Many facilities have already reduced Maximum Retail Prices (MRP) and Prices to Distributors (PTD) in response to lower costs of imported crude oils. The government aims to stabilize prices and ensure affordability for consumers, with ongoing monitoring and regulatory actions planned to address any delays in price reductions.
