Nationwide Testing of Cell Broadcasting System for Disaster Alerts

The Ministry of Communications, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority, is conducting nationwide testing of an indigenous Cell Broadcasting system to enhance disaster communication. This system, developed by C-DOT, will allow for real-time alerts in multiple languages during emergencies. Test messages in English and Hindi will be sent to mobile phones, requiring no action from recipients. The testing phase will last 2-4 weeks across all states and union territories in India.
