NBA Distributes ₹10.40 lakh for Biodiversity Conservation

The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) of India has distributed ₹10.40 lakh under its Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) framework to Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) across 24 districts in nine states and one union territory. This initiative supports local communities and reinforces India's commitment to biodiversity conservation. The funds, generated from the commercial use of various biological resources, are part of an ongoing effort that has seen total ABS disbursements surpass ₹145 crore. The initiative aligns with India's obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Nagoya Protocol.
