NCERT to Grant Equivalence to Class 10 and 12 Certificates

The Government of India has assigned the NCERT the task of granting equivalence to Class 10 and 12 certificates from various School Education Boards. This new responsibility, effective from September 6, 2025, aims to facilitate admissions to higher education and employment across government sectors. The NCERT will utilize the PARAKH framework to ensure a rigorous equivalence determination process, superseding the previous role of the AIU. The equivalence will be recognized nationwide, promoting smooth transitions between different School Boards in India.
