NCST Expedites Forest Rights Act Land Claims in Key Indian States

The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) has initiated district-level committees in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan to expedite Forest Rights Act land patta claims. This initiative has successfully resolved thousands of pending cases. The NCST was allocated ₹19.68 crore for the current financial year and has completed 19 research studies from 2022 to 2024 on issues concerning Scheduled Tribes.
