Nearly 2 Lakh Startups Recognized by Government of India

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry has recognized 1,97,692 startups as part of the Startup India initiative as of October 31, 2025. Despite 6,385 startups being categorized as closed due to various market and financial factors, the government continues to support startups through the Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS), Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS), and Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups (CGSS). These initiatives aim to provide financial aid and opportunities for growth across different stages of the business cycle.
