New Gratuity Rules for Central Government Employees

The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has introduced the Central Civil Services (Payment of Gratuity under National Pension System) Rules, 2021, applicable to Central Government civilian employees. These rules do not automatically apply to employees of autonomous bodies. However, under specific conditions, service in autonomous bodies can be counted for gratuity if the employee resigns properly to take another government position. This was stated by Dr. Jitendra Singh in a Rajya Sabha reply.
