New Guidelines for Timely Pension Payments Issued by Government

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions has released comprehensive guidelines aimed at ensuring timely payment of retirement dues and issuance of Pension Payment Orders (PPOs) for Central Civil Employees. The guidelines include digitization of service records, universalization of the Bhavishya portal, and the establishment of an inter-ministerial oversight committee. Key reforms also involve clarifications on vigilance clearance, auto-flagging of cases, and the introduction of Welfare Officers to assist retiring employees. The goal is to ensure that PPOs are issued 60 days before retirement and that first pensions are paid promptly after retirement.
