New National Agriculture Policy Announced

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has unveiled a new national agriculture policy aimed at comprehensive growth in the sector. Key strategies include increasing crop productivity, reducing production costs, ensuring remunerative prices for farmers, promoting agricultural diversification, enhancing post-harvest infrastructure, and adapting to climate change. The Gross Value Added (GVA) growth rate for agriculture is projected at 4.6% for 2024-25. The policy addresses challenges such as climate change and global price volatility while supporting state-level initiatives.
