New 'Viksit Bharat: G Ram G' Act to Enhance Rural Employment
The Indian government has introduced the 'Viksit Bharat: G Ram G' Act, which builds upon the existing MGNREGA framework by guaranteeing 125 days of employment annually, a significant increase from the previously mandated 100 days. The Act, now signed into law by President Droupadi Murmu, aims to drive rural development and create sustainable income sources. With increased financial allocation and administrative expenditure, the scheme will also benefit small and marginal farmers, ensuring more effective grassroots implementation. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stresses the importance of spreading accurate information about the program to combat ongoing misinformation.
